Nightmare House (Prologue) + Nightmare House 2 – Steam – Free

ked up Nightmare House (Prologue) and Nightmare House 2 for free on Steam. If you want to skip the poorly written article and just go get the game so you can play it without having to expend much effort, you can get it right this second at the following link:

One of the things I was immediately impressed with was the faithful adaptation to the original Source engine mod. I completed Nightmare House (Prologue) in about 30 minutes and it played and looks just as I remembered it when it was originally released. Maybe a little better graphics but the gameplay itself, the layout of the “house”, even the quirky needing to press the mouse button or a key after you die to pass the red death screen have all been reproduced flawlessly.

Enter the haunting world of Nightmare House. This is the definitive edition of the highly acclaimed horror classic “Nightmare House 2”. Initially released in 2010 as a Source mod for Half-Life 2, the Nightmare House series captivated players with its intense atmosphere and gripping gameplay.

After fighting your way through an abandoned house, you wake up in the teared down, ironically named hospital ‘Never Lose Hope’. As you navigate these eerie halls, encounter terrors and enemies, team up with otherworldly allies and try to survive the unending hordes of horrors coming your way. If you manage to pull through, you might finally escape.

Steam Synopsis and Description

I never did play Nightmare House 2 but it is also included in this adaptation and after you complete the prologue, part 2 will automatically start to load. So far I’ve made it to chapter 3 of part 2 and the visual look of part 2 is stunning. I mean it’s not life like graphics or anything but it is a vast improvement over the visual look of the original, in my opinion. The developers were really pushing what the Source engine could do and they made it look and perform great. The game was very responsive, easy to acquire and own, and some even say it’s the original first survival horror written for the Source engine… All the things one needs to hear to know that not only is Nightmare House something special, it’s just good fun to play.
